Confused about Barnstable?
Well, with good reason, because Barnstable refers to 3 different geographic areas.
Barnstable County is all of Cape Cod. The Town of Barnstable, in the middle of the Cape, is the largest of the
Cape's 15 towns in population and area. The Town includes 7 villages: Barnstable, West Barnstable, Cotuit, Osterville,
Marstons Mills, Centerville, and Hyannis (which is the largest population and shopping center on the Cape). Our house
is located between the villages of Barnstable and West Barnstable just off Route 6A, also known as Old King's Highway.
